Judith Allnatt
Judith writes adult fiction and poetry. Her novel, A Mile of River, featured as a BBC Radio 5 Live Book of the Month and was shortlisted for the Portico Prize for Literature. The Poet’s Wife was shortlisted for the East Midlands Book Award. Other titles include The Moon Field and The Silk Factory.
Dennis Hamley
Dennis has written widely for children and young adults; one of his best-known books, The War and Freddy, was shortlisted for the Smarties Prize. His recent adult novel, The Second Person from Porlock, is a fantasy riff on the chaotic life of Samuel Taylor Coleridge. Dennis joins us with a reissue of his highly-acclaimed novel Spirit of the Place. He lives in Oxford with his wife Kay, an artist.

Christina Hardyment
Before becoming an author, Christina worked as a film editor and teacher of history. She has published a wide range of titles, including Writing the Thames, Novel Crime Scenes and Novel Houses. She joins us at WRP to continue her Alyce Chaucer series, inspired by the Oxfordshire life of Geoffrey Chaucer's granddaughter.

Mary Hoffman
Mary has written more than ninety books for children and teenagers and two other adult novels. She is best known for the picture book Amazing Grace , the Stravaganza series of fantasy novels and historical novels including The Falconer’s Knot and Troubadour.

Linda Newbery
Linda has published widely for readers of all ages, and was a Costa Book Award winner with her young adult novel Set in Stone. Her adult novel The One True Thing was one of WRP's launch titles in 2025. Other titles include Lob, The Shell House and Nevermore. She is an active campaigner on animal and environmental issues.

Sue Purkiss
Sue has written several novels for children and young adults, mostly set in the past.
Sue joins WRP with her first novel for adults. An Ordinary War is the story of Harry Pilgrim, who is taken prisoner on the way to Dunkirk in 1940 and does his growing up in a prison camp in Poland – where he learns a great deal about friendship and love, but also about betrayal and tragedy.

Celia Rees
Celia is a leading writer for Young Adults with an international reputation. Her titles include Witch Child, Sorceress , Pirates!, Sovay, The Fool’s Girl and Glass Town Wars. In 2012, she began researching and writing her first novel for adults, Miss Graham's Cold War Cookbook, (paperback edition, Miss Graham’s War) published in 2021. Celia will publish with WRP in 2026.

Sheena Wilkinson
One of Ireland's most acclaimed writers for young people, the multi-award-winning Sheena Wilkinson has published ten novels.
